The Epitaph of Life
On a bright sunny Monday morning, Vivian and Samuel Green welcomed their fourth baby boy. In those days Alford was a popular name for boys. He was the sixth of eight children.
Alford Loyce Green was preceded in death by his parents. Vivian and Samuel Green. a sister Clarice Green Holt, two brothers, Robert and Samuel Ray Green, and a granddaughter, Raven Dowd.
At an early age he attended church regularly along with his mother. His parents made sure that he knew our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
After graduating from Gibbons High, he went to Prairie View A & M College, later he joined the Marines for a tour of duty for four years. While in the Marines he received a medal of honor for bravery.
Alford was a very talented and successful businessman. Most of his adult life he was self-employed.
Careers include butcher, bartender, plumber, carpenter, business owner and a building contractor.
He was very excited about this Thanksgiving. He was helping with the food preparation. He was looking forward to seeing relatives that he hadn't seen in a while.
Alford was a very loving, caring person, and generous person. His friends called him Bango. He was always the life of the party and any family gatherings. On Saturday November 12, 2022, Alford Loyce Green departed this world.
He leaves behind loved ONES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORIES. His wife Cynthia Mitchell Green, two daughters, Stephanie Dowd (Paris); Sharee Green (Baytown), The King Children, sisters, Carolyn Green Akins (Paris) Clarene Green Montgomery (Seattle), brother, James (Edith) Henry Green (Kansas City, MO.) Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
