Betty Jean Hearn, 76, of Paris passed away April 29, 2021, in her home. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at New Birth Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Wallace serving as eulogist and Bishop S. F. Evans, pastor. Interment will follow to Littlejohn Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.
Betty Hearn was born in Paris, Texas, to the parentage of Joe Mickens and Geneva Gray. She attended Gibbons High School.
She accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with Mt. Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. B. Wallace. She loved the Lord and loved working in the church serving God and His people.
Betty met the true love of her life Roosevelt Hearn, Sr, and they shared a wonderful life of fifty-six years. Betty was an excellent cook, and she also love and reared many children who were the children of her heart: Tosha Turner, Jamarius Bellamy, Stacy Bellamy, Brandy Bellamy, Kelviana Epperson, Rod Biggers. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert Joe Mickens, James Mickens, and George Mickens, Jr. Betty leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Roosevelt Hearn; son, Roosevelt (Sha Sha); daughter: Nicole (Isiaah) Hearn, all of Paris, Texas; a sister, Esther (Don) McCuin, Dallas and Ruth Holt, Plano, Texas; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
