David Wayne Jackson

David Wayne Jackson was born on June 21, 1957 in Clarksville, TX to David and Ruthie Jackson. David’s life began flourishing when accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. David was an active member of St. James Baptist Church youth ministry and later moved his membership to Sweet Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor D. L. Wilson. He started his education at Robert Elementary, and graduated from Clarksville High School as an outstanding athlete. He was known to his family as Pooch Wayne or Tater Head.

On November 4, 1977, David married Christine Jackson. They was for 43 years and together they raised three kids. He instilled in his children a strong belief in the Lord early on in their lives. David stressed the important of reading and a good education to his children, nieces, nephews, and any school age children. Look, Listen, and Learn he would tell us all. He even inspired his boys to be true Cowboy fan, and any other Dallas sport teams. He was known as the protector and supporter of his family. If anyone needed David for anything, all it took was a phone call and he was on his way. He was present figure at family events and functions. David was expert in game of dominos and fluent in its language. He loves his wrestling, westerns, fishing, barbecuing, and football. David worked as a pipe fitter for Local 100 pipe fitters of Dallas, TX, and a truck driver until he retired.

David received his wings into heaven on May 6, 2021 and was welcome by his parents: David and Ruthie Jackson, sisters: Kimberly Jackson and Betty McCulloch and son Droneal M. Jackson.

David Wayne Jackson leaves pieces of heart with his wife Christine Jackson of Garland, TX; daughter Shashina Haggerty (Gerald) of Garland, TX; sons: David Jackson Jr. (Tameka) of Garland, TX and Derran Franklin (Amanda) of Mt. Pleasant, TX.

Grandchildren: Tatyunia Jackson, Broadrick Jackson, Rekia Jackson, Gerald Haggerty III, Sirr Davion Jackson, Javion Cornelius, Emoni Haggerty, Samara Haggerty, A’dayvia Jackson, Travorian Haggerty, Isaiah Jackson, Iriana Jackson, Christine Jackson, Derryana Franklin, Derran Franklin Jr., Prince Franklin, and Princess Franklin.

Great-Grandchildren:  Haven Smith, Xyun Jackson, and Caliyunia Watson.

Godchildren: LaTrish Jackson of Dallas, TX, and Otis (LaQwesha) of Duncanville, TX. God-Grand Children: Nevaeh and Princeton Evan, Kington Gabriel, Khaliya, Deonna, Lamerion, Torrance, King’Harlem, Sy’Aire, Otis Jr., Karter, True, and Queen’Bella Jackson. David was an all-around father figure to many his nieces and nephew.

David leaves behind a host of family and friend they he cherished dearly.
