Donald Ray Cooper, 81, of Bonham passed away September 15, 2021. Memorial services are set for 2:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Maxey Funeral Chapel.
Donald Ray Cooper (Zeke) was born September 15, 1940, in Paris, Texas, to the parentage of the late Tommy Cooper and Laler Breedlove. He attended Baldwin and Paris High School before going into the United States Army. He later returned to start a family and career working for R. C. and 7-UP bottling companies and as an Elevator Operator at the Lamar County Courthouse.
He also ran his own business until his health started to decline. Donald was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Paris, Texas.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: Sister, Dora Maxine Cooper; son, Byron Cooper; daughters, Jean Bowen (Michael), Tommie Clark (Bobby), Loretta Hill (Earlston) and Wundretta Ford; step-daughter, Sharon Akins; step-son, Larry Akins (Donna), 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Cooper & Laler Breedlove; his son, Ronald Cooper, his daughter, Denise Kirksey, three brothers: Marshall, Richmond, and James Cooper, 1 sister, Emma Russell, and 1 step-sister, Irene Sampson.
