Donald Sims was born on November 11, 1962, to the late L. J. and Isabell Sims in Paris, Texas. He graduated from Paris High School in 1982. He accepted Christ early in life and was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board for many years. He was a retiree of Campbell Soup Company. Later on in life, he met the love of his life Leonda Daniels. He played football and was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys and Paris Wildcats fan. He entered eternal rest on August 6, 2021.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Loved Ones Who Remain: Sons: Donald (Kenisha) Sims, Jr., Donnealous Sims, DeCedric Sims; Daughters: Donella Sims, Savaannah Hamilton, Shamika (Bryan Howard) Sims, Dondella Sims; Stepchildren: Paul Simmons, Kenneth Tyler, Marynelle Simmons; Brother: J.O. Sims; Sisters: Shirley (Charles) Dillard, Cherry (James) Dillard, Myrtle (Luther) Cook, Alice (McKinley) Ray, and Monnell (Jerry) Harris. Also, twenty-five grandchildren, special friends, Joe Finch, Myke Twitty, and Coach Tavares Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Robert Sims, Clarence Sims, Donnell Sims; and sisters, Jean Nickerson Sims and Shelia Ceasar.
