Elnora Walker Obituary

Elnora Walker, 83, of Forney, Texas entered eternal rest on May 20, 2023, at Ridgecrest Healthcare. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, May 27, 2023, at New Olive Baptist Church. The Rev. David Monk will serve as eulogist and the Rev. George Fisher, pastor. Interment will follow to Doaksville Cemetery under the direction of Alberta Funeral Home assisted by Maxey Funeral Home.

Elnora Weekly was born July 19th, 1939, in Ft Towson, Oklahoma, to the parentage of Clarence and Ruby Weekly. She confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at an early age. Growing up in Hugo, she had dreams of being one of the first women to join the United States Navy (WAVES); however, her dream was later fulfilled by both Danyella and James III-United States Navy Veterans.

After graduating from Dunjee High School in 1960, she married James Lee White (Red) and from that union, they had five children Rickey White, James White II, Danny White, Danyella White, and James White III, and a bonus son, Wendell White.

Elnora was an avid traveler, living abroad in Bremerhaven, Germany, for several years. Upon returning to the United States, she lived in Ft Worth, Texas. Elnora and her children returned to their home in Hugo in the late 1980s, where she devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver, completing her LVN license and working in the healthcare field working in both the facility setting and later as a private duty caretaker. She could always be found wearing the latest fashions and hairstyles. Later, she reunited with and married her high school sweetheart Hosea Walker, Jr.

Elnora retired from the healthcare field in 2012 when her health started declining. She continued to travel, spent time watching her favorite television shows, laughing, talking on the phone with her family and friends, eating delicious foods (she loved soul food, sweet tea, lemon cake, and peach cobbler), and visiting the casino. Mrs. Walker was a member of New Olive Baptist Church in Grant, Oklahoma. Elnora fought a challenging health battle for the last ten years but stayed the course until the end, always keeping her faith that the Lord knows best.

On May 20th, 2023, God’s Angels descended from heaven to carry his precious child Mrs. Elnora Weekly White Walker home to rest with him. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, James Lee White, and Hosea Walker, Jr; both parents, Clarence, and Ruby; two brothers, Clarence Weekly and Ivory Weekly; four sisters, Elizabeth, Thelma, Francis, and Annie Jewel; two sons, James White II, and Danny White; two grandsons, Danny White II, and Courtney Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory two sons, Rickey White of Lawton, Oklahoma, and James White III of North Carolina; one daughter, Danyella Lanier (Kevin) of Forney Texas; one bonus son, Wendall White of Oklahoma City; one brother, C.L Weekly of Hugo, Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Cook of Bryan, Texas; six grandchildren, Chyna Cooper, Kendall Simpson, Andrew White, Christopher Johnson, Rickey White, Jr., Derrick White; two granddaughters, Shareka Bray and Sharon Jeffrey; two special nieces, Sophia Wheatfall and Velma Monk; thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
