Emma McAfee

Emma McAfee, 95, of Paris entered eternal rest on May 2, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Paris New Generation Baptist Church. Pastor Kendall McAfee will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow to Fairland-Littlejohn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday, May 12th in the Maxey Funeral Chapel.

On a beautiful spring day on April 15, 1928, a beautiful baby girl, Emma Ethel Alexander, was born to Vollie & Pinkie Alexander in Hugo, Oklahoma. The family then moved across the river to Sylvan, TX, where Emma was raised and attended the Colored School.

Growing into adulthood, she married Bobby Lee McAfee in 1953 and they bore 5 children together. During Bobby's time of service in the United States Army, their family traveled across the world before placing their roots in Paris, TX. Emma was employed at Williamsburg Pharmacy and was a Domestic Worker for many families.

Emma surrendered her life to the Lord in 1976 and was saved, sanctified, and filled with The Holy Ghost, becoming a member of The Overcomers Church Of God In Christ. Faithfully serving under the leadership of Eld. CH Pierson, Bishop TL Young, Eld. HL Beans & Eld.

Vincent Lewis. She served as Choir President and a part of the kitchen committee for over 30 years and was also an active Sunday school, YPWW and Bible Band student. In 2015 Emma served at Temple of Deliverance under the late Supt. RL Turner and in 2020.

Emma served the Lord under the leadership of Pastor Kendall McAfee at The Galilee Church Of God In Christ until the Lord called her home. Emma met no stranger and was a mother and succorer to many. She was a true Servant of The Lord, who lived by the scripture, Isaiah 26:3 and song "I'm learning how to lean and depend on Jesus". She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby McAfee, daughter, Patricia Elaine McAfee, parents Vollie & Pinkie Alexander, son in law, James Pelham, granddaughter, Ebony McAfee & siblings: RW Alexander, Omia Bradley, Lillie Bell Bilbrew, Justine Coleman & Aline.

She leaves to cherish her memories
