Frankie Dean Ricks

Mr. Frankie Dean Ricks, 77, of Blossom entered eternal rest on October 27, 2021, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 11:00 am Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Alexander serving as eulogist. Interment will follow to Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.

Mr. Frankie Dean Ricks was born January 01, 1944 in Lamar County to the late Sammie and Edna Ricks. Mr. Frankie Ricks grew up in Kanawha Texas and attended school in the Detroit Independent School District in Detroit, Texas. Upon completion of his general education, Mr. Ricks joined the United States Army from 1965-1967. Mr. Ricks met and married Miss Vonell Cooper from Novice, Texas and to their union 5 children were born; 4 sons and 1 daughter. After completing his tour of duty, Frankie obtained employment at Campbell Soup and Silgan where he worked for 50yrs until retirement.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of Oak Hill Baptist church serving as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Although Mr. Ricks experienced health problems that prevented him from attending church, he remained a committed servant of God taking every opportunity to win souls for Christ. Mr. Ricks is preceded in death by his parents Sammie and Edna Ricks, brothers Sammie Joe Ricks Jr. and Billy Ray Ricks, his sisters Mary Roberts, Helen Ricks, Sherly Ricks, Ruby Johnson, and Erma Crawford. Mr. Ricks surviving family members include: Wife: Vonell Ricks Sons: Cedric (Jackie), Byron, Alton, and Brandon Ricks Daughter: Lacresia Ricks-Adams (Darwin Adams) Grandchildren: Trennell Harvey, Milecia Ricks and KadIjah Cash, Darwin Adams Jr., Cedric Ricks Jr., Xavier Ricks, and Quentin Ricks Great grandchildren: Kamryn Cash and Kaiyan Cash A host of neices and nephews.
