Jean Williams Obituary

Jean Arthur Williams, 90, of Heartland, Texas passed away on May 7, 2023, in Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Paris New Generation Baptist Church. Interment will follow to Egypt Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.

Jean Arthur Reynolds was born September 21, 1932, in Blossom, Texas, to the parentage of the late William and Robbie Reynolds. Jean was the youngest of six sisters and three brothers. She was constantly in touch with her mother’s native culture, always expressing how she was half Cherokee and half African American.

Jean Arthur Reynolds accepted Christ at an early age. Jean Arthur was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Tammie Gene Williams on October 9, 1962, in Hugo, Oklahoma. She moved to Dallas, Texas, after uniting in Holy matrimony with Tommie Gene Williams and later being blessed with four children, Robert Jean Reynolds, Paris, Texas; Tommie Ann Dangerfield, Duncanville, Texas; the late Dale Marshall Williams, and Edwin Gale Williams, Cedar Hill, Texas. Employed at First National Bank in Dallas for twenty years until her health began to fail, at which time she became a homemaker who had a loving, caring heart, welcoming to her home anyone who needed a place to stay, and she will be truly missed.

Jean Arthur was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Tommie Gene Williams; son, Dale Williams; son-in-law, William Dangerfield; five sisters and three brothers. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her one sister, Celestine Thomas, Cedar Hill, Texas; three children, Tommie Dangerfield, Robert Reynolds, and Edwin Williams. Jean Arthur would always say that she had two special bonus children, niece, Virginia Chism, Cedar Hill, Texas, and nephew, Willie Thomas, Desoto, Texas. Jean Arthur was blessed with two grandchildren, Octavious Monique Dangerfield, Heartland, Texas, and William Earl Dangerfield, Jr., Denton, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Zoe Dangerfield, Diezel Dangerfield, Chase Dangerfield, and Landon Dangerfield, Heartland, Texas, and a host of, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
