Lawrence Leroy Cobb, 75, of Paris departed this life on October 20, 2021. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Blossom, Texas with the Rev. Altrice Mosley serving as eulogist. Interment will follow to Egypt Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.
Lawrence Leroy Cobb was born October 11, 1946 to the parentage of J.C. and Cloteal Reynolds Cobb. He attended Blossom schools and was a graduate of Gibbons High School. He attended church at Oak Hill Baptist Church at an early age and served as a deacon in later years. He served in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged after serving his country in the Vietnam war in which he received injuries and memories that remained with him for the rest of his life. After being discharged, he lived in Canada for 10 years, working as a personal trainer in gyms where physical fitness became his passion. When he returned to the United States, he moved to California where he worked at Ft. Irwin Army Base as a Civil Service employee. After retiring, he returned to Blossom which was his life long dream to return to the country life where he was born. He loved serving his family and people in general. He had a great sense of humor and a sweet spirit which remained with him even as battled his illness. He remained a soldier throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He entered eternal rest on October 20, 2021.
