Obituary

Marshall Johnson, Jr., 78, of Paris passed away June 10, 2023, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 11:00 am Saturday, June 17, 2023, Palestine Baptist Church with Rev. James Johnson serving as eulogist. Interment will follow to Syloam Cemetery.

Marshall Johnson, Jr. was born August 19, 1944, in Red River County, to the parentage of Marshall Johnson, Sr. and Myra Johnson. He was loving known as Uncle Marshall or MJ. Marshall was one of seven children. In 2021, Marshall retired as an over-the-road truck driver. He drove over a million miles for Frito Lay and continued driving for FedEx until he parked his 18-wheeler for the last time. He was a true cowboy at heart and was a member of the 6-Shooter Riding Club. He spent decades raising cattle and horses and if he wasn't on the road, he could be found at his horse pasture.

Marshall departed this life Saturday, June 10, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Myra Johnson, his brothers, Ollie Johnson and Eugene Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his memories and grow his legacy is sons, Travis Johnson, Ricky Parker (Taletha), and Mathis Johnson; his daughter, Krystal Collins (Anthony); his brothers, Arthur Lee Johnson (Gracie), Charles Johnson (Liza), JC Johnson (Bonita); his sister, Abnell Hill; grandchildren, Travis Earl, Tamra, Shaquay, Madyson, Kristopher, Kennedy, Ricky Jr., Mathias, and Kingston; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
