Miasha Yakena Alexander, 48, of Garland, Texas entered eternal rest on July 11, 2021, at Medical City Plano, Texas. Funeral services are set for Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 12:00 noon at New Salem Baptist Church with Bishop Connie Mayes serving as eulogist. Interment will follow at Reeds Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.
Miasha Alexander was born on June 6, 1973 to Betty Alexander and Robert Minor, Sr. Miasha attended
Paris High School, Richland College, and Texas Lonestar College. Miasha worked for Dallas County
Community College District for over 20 years. Miasha retired from Dallas County Community College
District in early 2021. Miasha was a devoted Christian who attended various churches in the Dallas Fort
Worth metroplex and Paris and diligently studied the word. In Miasha’s free time, she loved to shop
with her mother and sisters, attend concerts, attend family events, cook, read and collect cookbooks,
travel, and spend time with her son, Devin Alexander. Miasha loved everyone and wished them nothing
but success and happiness. Miasha will be remembered best for personality, cheerful spirit, and loving
characteristics.
Miasha was called home on July 11, 2021. Miasha was preceded by her mother, father, and older
brothers, Jerry Braxton (maternal) and Billy Ray Minor (paternal). Miasha leaves behind her son. Miasha
leaves her maternal siblings, Kerry Braxton, Cheryl Council (James), Larry Alexander, Leslie Alexander,
Teresa Dobbins (Ralph), and Sandra Dunn (Charles). Miasha leaves her paternal siblings, Linda Fuller,
Robert Minor, Jr. (Shirley), and Larry Minor (Sheila). Miasha also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great
nieces, and great nephews.
