Minnie (Bagby) Roberts

Minnie Bagby Roberts, 86, of Pecan Gap passed away, March 27, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. Luke Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Shepherd serving as eulogist. Interment will follow to Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.

Minnie Margrett Bagby Robert was born March 1, 1937 to the late James William and Essie Mae Bagby in

Pecan Gap, Texas. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Honey Grove, Texas.

Minnie met the late Robert Lee Roberts where at East Texas University (Texas A&M University), Commerce, Texas.  They were joined in marriage May 31, 1968, in Bonham, Texas.  To this union one son Michael Lee and one daughter Rosha Demetra was born.

Minnie graduated from Clark High School as valedictorian of her class.  She worked at East Texas State University (Texas A&M University), Commerce, Texas in housekeeping. Later she worked as Supervisor of Salad & Dessert Food Service.  She terminated her job at East Texas State University to care for her daughter Rosha, who had special needs.  She later worked for Cooper Home Health as a caregiver for 27 years.

She was an awesome pastries baker, enjoyed working puzzles, reading and spending quality time with family and friends.

She departed this life March 27, 2023, at UW Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Lee Roberts, husband Robert Lee Roberts,

father, James William Bagby, brother Willie James Bagby, daughter Rosha Demetra Roberts,

mother, Essie Mae Bagby and sister, Erece Bagby.

Minnie leaves to cherish her memory:

Three sisters: Mattie Watts and Dorothy Bagby, Seattle, WA; Esther and Raymond Eagleton, Newcastle, WA,

Three nieces: Alexis and Justin Shull, Kaylyn Shull, Aaliyah and Dakota Bradbury.

Four nephews: Marcus and Kimberly Eagleton; Alex Eagleton, Travis and Hydi Bagsby, Sean Bagsby and Vanessa Lamb.   

Also, a host of cousins and friends.
