O. B. McCuin Obituary

O. B. McCuin, 88, of Paris passed away on Dec. 9, 2023. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles P. Young will serve as eulogist, the Rev. Richard Jones, pastor. Interment will follow at Restlawn Garden Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 15th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Maxey Funeral Chapel. He was a member of Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist church, a retiree of B & W Company, a former employee of Travis Middle School. O.B. MCCUIN was born September 18, 1935 in Biardstown, Texas to the parentage of the late Bailey and Mabel McCuistian Jones McCuin. O.B. attended B.J. Graves High School and united in holy matrimony with Connis Jean Woods for over 52 years and six children were born. He was certified as an Auto Mechanic, worked at Packing House until he went to Babcock Wilcox and retired after 20 years in 1992.

After retirement, he worked as a Bar B Q Cook! He loved fishing, spending time with grandchildren, great grandchildren (Twins) and fixing on all types of things. Mostly he loved and enjoyed his church family at Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of his brother, Rev. Richard Jones, where he attended faithfully as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. O.B. was a father to everyone that lived on 3rd Street when he moved there. He was a Blessing to all that knew him. HE was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connis Jean McCuin;son, Lucius McCuin; brothers, Charles, Phillip, Glen McCuin, Olburn, J.B., James, Willie, and John Jones; sister, Cheryl McCuin; and great grandson, Corlin Jones.

He is survived by his sons, Corey McCuin of Paris, Texas, Ocie McCuin of Paris, Texas, Kenneth McCuin (Renae) of Baltimore, Maryland; daughters, Donna Young (Charles) of Owasso, Oklahoma, Keri McCuin (Paris); brothers, Don McCuin (Nita) of Dallas, Texas, Fred McCuin (Patricia) of Paris, Texas, Kenneth Jones (Gail) of Paris, Texas, Rev. Richard Jones (Louise) of Paris, Texas; sisters, MinnieWilliams (Paris), Linnie Hawkins (Arizona), Linda Jones (Paris), Betty Jones (Paris); grandchildren, Andre, Shawn, and Jovan Young, Takisha Anquion and Shakayla McCuin, KaRenth Sims and Ocie McCuin, Jr., Octavia, Kenyatta, and Kenneth McCuin, Jr., and Davonta McCuin; brothers-in-law, Alec Woods and wife, Rita and Early Woods; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
