Shirley Bailey Peoples

Shirley Bailey Peoples Obituary

Shirley Bailey Peoples went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2023. Funeral services are set for 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 23, 2023, in Maxey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Savage will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow to Restlawn Garden Cemetery.

Shirley Peoples was a beautiful woman inside (warmhearted) and Outside (Perfection).  She holds her faith to the highest (God); she loved to shop and decorate for every holiday, never missing.  She would always quote Psalms, Chapter one, Verses 1-4:

                  The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing.

                   He makes me to lie down in green pastures,

                   He leads me beside quiet waters,

                         he refreshes my soul.

                   He guides me along the right paths;

                             for his name’s sake.

                   Even though I walk through the darkest valley,

                   I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

                   Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

A 1972 Paris High School graduate, she retired from Campbell Soup after thirty-five years.  Fortunately, since beginning her position with this company, she always had a plan, “I’m retiring at the age of fifty-five; I don’t care what anyone says!”  When that time came, she was out!

She leaves loved ones: husband, Kenneth Ray Peoples; son: the late Marcus D. Bailey daughter, Latrecha L. Bailey (Roderick Mosley), granddaughters, Tyresia Black and Travisheona Bronner, and a grandson, Travius Bronner; great grandchildren, Jaliyah Garvin, Jace Brown, Aria Robinson, brothers, Robert Bailey, Bruce Bailey, and  William Earl Bailey (Stephanie); sisters, Donna Bailey and Latrain Wilburn.

Preceding her in death were great grandchild, Miracle Sky Garvin, and Sisters Carolyn Hardison and Virginia K. Bailey and brothers, Bernard Bailey.

Those who preceded her in death: Parents, Miracle Sky Garvin;  sisters, Carolyn Hardison and Virginia K. Bailey, and brothers, Bernard and Bobby Bailey.
