William Watkins

William Earl Watkins of Hugo entered eternal rest on August 17, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, August 26,2023, at Oak Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. James Alexander will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow to Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Alberta Funeral Home.

Born in Hugo, Oklahoma to O.C. Mims and Marie (Watkins) Mims. He grew up in the Frogville Community and attended school in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. He worked as a laborer until his health failed. On Thursday, August 17th, 2023, the Lord called to rest William Watkins. He united with the Oak Hill Baptist Church where he was a faithful member serving until the Lord called him home.

He leaves to cherish his memories, Catena Graham Watkins of the home, two sons: Williams Watkins, Jr. and Michael Watkins, one daughter: Chelsey Watkins, four sisters: Lutricia (Wayne) Mims, Hugo, OK, Lois (Wayne) Mims, Spencerville, OK, Linda (Gilbert) Beaver, Abilene, TX, Jackie McDonald, Paris, TX, nine brothers: Barzilla Watkins, Hugo, OK, Raford Watkins, Oklahoma City, OK, Willie Watkins, Hugo, OK, Odis (Elaine) Mims, Hugo, OK, Harvey (Mary) Mims, Paris, TX, Jimmy (Dorothy) Mims, Paris, TX, Tracy (Meshia) Mims, Hugo, OK, Jeffery (Loren) Mims, Del City, OK, James (Patricia) Mims, Hugo, OK, four aunts: Betty Roseman, Rose Armstrong, Mary Berry and Carrie Houston, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.C. Mims and Marie Watkins Mims, one sister: Betty Ann (Watkins) McCarty, two brothers: Leroy Watkins and Charlie Watkins, grandparents: Barzilla. and Ora Lee Watkins and Willie and Mayeola Mims, uncles: Lieutenant Mims, Jim Mims, aunts: Jessie Mae Wright, Lois Mabry and Mildred Duty.
